 Roles and responsibilities

  1. Among many responsibilities:
    • I was/am PI for several research activities, including:
      • Nutrition and Cognition among school-aged children
      • Nutrition and Physical Fitness in school-aged children
  2. Coordinator of Certificate course in human nutrition and dietetics. This capacity building initiative is run every year and brings together about 50 health professionals for 2-weeks training in nutrition and dietetics.

Ongoing research and research interest

  1. Building capacity for management of childhood severe malnutrition - the Malnutrition e-Learning Project
  2. Prevention of diet-related non communicable diseases through addressing unhealthy food systems and food environment, and other nutrition interventions
  3. Interventions to promote maternal and young child nutrition/health - the Koko plus study
  4. Physical fitness, nutrition and cognition among school-aged children

 Selected Consultancies:

  1. May to July 2016: Consultant for the Nutrition Component of State of Food Insecurity 2016 for the Food and Agricultural Organisation
  2. November 2014 to February 2015: Consultant/Technical Expertise for the harmonisation of national guidelines for the integrated management of acute malnutrition and underweight in Botswana.
